On Thursday 9th February Newton Prep's first ever Mixed Yr 5/6 Indoor Cricket team went to compete in the Maurice Fulcher Memorial Trophy at The Oval. This trophy is truly part of history considering it has been awarded since 1979. This year’s competition had over 45 primary schools from Lambeth, Southwark and Wandworth entering to progress to the Inner London Finals. The children were inspiring, dedicated and showed a real passion to succeed. Newton Prep could not have been more proud of their achievements. It was a great afternoon with Newton Prep coming out as victors. The children received Urban Cricket sets and tickets to watch Surrey CCC play a CB40 match at the Kia Oval. Surrey CCC’s Tim Linley presented the children with the enormous trophy and gave some words of encouragement to our future stars.
