We are delighted to share that Newton Prep has been commended in the Independent Prep School of the Year category at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026.
The commendation recognises the work the school has undertaken over the past academic year and reflects the breadth of opportunities, achievements and experiences available to pupils across the school.
Our submission highlighted another exceptional year for Newton Prep, including record numbers of senior school offers and scholarships, the continued development of our broad co-curricular programme, national recognition for wellbeing, and innovative initiatives such as outdoor learning and the Newton Prep Diploma.
Commenting on the news, Head Graeme McCafferty said:

This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and the support of our parent community. It is particularly pleasing that the judges have recognised not just our academic outcomes, but the wider educational experience we strive to provide every day.
The Independent Schools of the Year Awards celebrate excellence across the independent education sector, with finalists due to be announced in September.
We are proud to have been recognised at this stage of the awards process and look forward to the next round later this year.
