Our two Nursery classes provide excellent foundations for the children’s early learning. The opportunities for our youngest pupils are outstanding. They have plenty of outside play space, including our school garden, they have PE in the large sports hall with one of our specialist PE teachers, they learn ballet, they are taught music and they love to learn those all-important reading, writing and maths skills. They can often be seen hunting for letters, numbers or shapes around the school.

They also build their early technology skills whether this is taking photos of their friends on an iPad or playing with the Lego Coding Express train set. Some highlights of Nursery must surely be the Christmas Songs performance, the excitement of watching ducks and chicks hatch in their classroom and the very popular ‘Superheroes Week’ that culminates in a dress-up day for children and staff alike.
Children in Nursery all stay for mornings but the majority stay for full days, eating a school lunch and going home between 3.30 and 4pm. And then, at the end of the year, the children all move up to our Reception year which means they do not have to undergo the stress of 4+ assessments.
