Whether it’s singing in a care home, supporting local food banks or launching new partnerships, Newton Prep pupils are empowered to make a difference.
Pupil-Led Giving
Charity at Newton is pupil-driven, with our Community Captains and Charity Prefects leading by example. Their creativity and energy bring the whole school together around meaningful causes.
Recent initiatives include:
- Supporting the Royal Trinity Hospice Easter Chick Campaign, where our Community Captains sold raffle tickets and hand-knitted chicks, raising an outstanding £1,420.56
- A festive season full of giving: pupils collected Christmas toys, took part in a sponsored walk for Royal Trinity Hospice, and sang carols in a care home to bring joy to others.
- Our annual Harvest Festival, which saw the Newton community donate over 1,130kg of food — the equivalent of around 1,900 meals — to Wandsworth Food Bank, accompanied by assemblies that deepened pupils’ understanding of food insecurity and local impact.

Sporting Partnerships in the Community
Newton Prep is proud to be part of a Community Sports Partnership in collaboration with Nine Elms Football Club, London Wayfarers Hockey, and Spencer Netball. These events bring pupils and families together across local schools to celebrate sport, fitness and friendship through action-packed afternoons of football, hockey and netball for all ages and abilities.

Sarah CollymoreOur partnership with Newton Prep is of real and lasting value to us and to our children. We have never felt like the poor cousins from down the road. I know from what our kids and Newton Prep kids have said that there is mutual benefit and increased understanding that comes out of these shared initiatives. It has also sparked real creativity in our children, and aspirations beyond their previous horizons, as reflected in the number of St George’s children who have gone to Newton on a bursary, with our total support. I couldn’t be prouder!

Building Lasting Connections
From carol singing to collaborative projects, Newton Prep values the power of relationships. We are proud to maintain warm partnerships with local schools and organisations that foster a spirit of shared learning, inclusion and joy. Whether through service, sport or song, our pupils discover that they are part of something bigger and that their voices and actions truly matter.
