We are proud to share that our Head of English, Ms Lacey, recently co-led a webinar for the English Association, exploring innovative teaching strategies for Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
Alongside Dr Lucy Hobbs (De Montfort University), Elly introduced new Educational Recording Agency materials designed to bring the text to life through drama, oracy, and rich media adaptations. These resources help students deepen their understanding of 19th-century literature while working towards GCSE-style outcomes in both English Language and Literature.
The session included a practical demonstration of a flexible lesson plan that supports learners from Year 9 through to GCSE, showing how TV and stage versions can enhance classroom engagement and analysis.
