
Boys Sport Week 8
Week 8 of the summer term was another memorable one on the sports pitch.
The Year 3 and 4’s participated in their Sports Day, with an action packed and fun afternoon had by all the children. They also demonstrated an outstanding attitude and commitment towards all of their events - and several records were set. Well done to all the boys and girls who participated in this event.
In addition, the Year 7-8 1st and 2nd XI cricket teams travelled over to Battersea Park to play Westminster Cathedral Choir School in two very entertaining and highly skilled fixtures. The results and man of the match recipients are below.

WEEK 7 BOYS SPORT
The boys were once again outstanding on the sports pitch during week 7 of the summer term. Sports Day preparations are coming to the final stages for the Year 3-4 kids, while all of the lads in Years 5-8 have also been working hard in preparation for their upcoming event too. In addition, some of our Year 8 boys walked over to Battersea Park to play Eaton Square in one of their final cricket fixtures for the school. All the lads performed exceptionally well and represented the school with great skill and a sublime attitude.

WEEK 6 BOYS SPORT
The boys once again put in a tremendous amount of effort on the sports pitch during week 6 of the summer term. Sports Day preparations intensified for the Year 3-4 kids, while all of the lads in Year 5 had the opportunity to participate in cricket fixtures against Hill House. All our boys performed exceptionally well and represented the school to the best of their ability.
In addition, Year 6 ‘Mini Wimbledon’ was held at Newton Prep during week 6 of the summer term. Some outstanding tennis was played by all participants, culminating in the final between Blake Morris-Jones and Matthew Wilkinson. In a high quality match befitting a final, Blake came out on top to be crowned king of the tennis court for the Year 6 boys.

WEEK 5 BOYS SPORT
The boys were once again outstanding on the sports pitch during week 5 of the summer term. Sports Day preparations intensified for the Year 3-4 kids, while all of the lads in Years 4 and 6 had the opportunity to participate in cricket fixtures. All children performed exceptionally well and represented the school to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, the Year 5 boys had their cricket fixture against the Harrodian washed out, on a more positive note, they will get their opportunity to represent the school next week against Hill House.
In addition, the Year 7-8 children participated in their ‘Mini Wimbledon’ tennis tournament on Friday afternoon. All participants performed exceptionally well and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. The final was played between Zack Morris-Jones and Omar Ahmed, in a high class match, Zack came out on top to be crowned champion of the Newton Prep tennis court for 2016. Well done to all the children who partook in the event!

WEEK 4 BOYS SPORT
Week 4 was another good week on the sports field for the boys. All year groups continued preparations for sports day and some of the Year 6 boys participated in a fixture against Finton House. The boys performed very well in a high quality match on the Newton Prep AWP. Next week, we have the first ‘mini Wimbledon’ of the year, with the Year 7-8’s competing to be crowned king of the Newton Prep tennis court, good luck boys!

WEEK 3 BOYS SPORT
Although a little rain interrupted, week 3 was another good one on the sports pitch for the boys. All year groups continued preparations for sports day and their upcoming cricket fixtures. The Year 4 match against Harrodian was unfortunately washed out, as to was the Yr 7-8 1st and 2nd XI fixtures. However, the Yr 7-8 lads did get to play some pairs cricket using the soft incredi-balls when the storm blew over. Fortunately, the Yr 6 lads did get to play their fixtures against Hornsby House. All the boys represented the school extremely well, playing some fantastic cricket and thoroughly enjoying themselves in the process.

WEEK 2 BOYS SPORT
Week 2 was another good week on the sports field for the boys. All year groups began their preparations for sports day and the early signs suggest that it will be another high class day. In addition, our 1st and 2nd XI cricket teams travelled out to Harrodian in what could only be described as British cricket weather. Our 1st XI team got washed out after making a very good start with the bat (61-2 after 8 overs), while our 2nd XI team battled hard in the trying conditions but were outclassed by a very strong opposition.
