Deputy Head Lower School Announcement 

At the end of this academic year, we will be bidding a fond farewell to Mrs Wendy Smith, Deputy Head Lower School. After six years of dedicated service to Newton Prep, Mrs Smith will be retiring and embarking on an exciting new chapter which begins with a ‘big trip’ with her husband as they travel the world together in the Autumn. We will deeply miss her warmth, wisdom, and steady presence, but we are thrilled for her and know that she leaves with the heartfelt gratitude and best wishes of the entire Newton Prep community.

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Belinda Clothier will be stepping into the role of Deputy Head Lower School from September. Mrs Clothier is already a familiar and trusted face at Newton Prep, having been part of our teaching team for over 20 years and currently serving as our Assistant Head Lower School. Her wealth of experience, deep knowledge of our School, and commitment to our pupils’ wellbeing and academic progress make her uniquely placed to lead with both continuity and vision.

Mrs Clothier shared her excitement about her new role:

"It is a real privilege to take on this position in a school I have loved being part of for so many years. I look forward to working even more closely with our wonderful pupils, parents, and staff as we continue to nurture a Lower School environment where every child can thrive."

 

This transition offers a seamless continuation of the outstanding care and leadership our families have come to expect. With her strong relationships, in-depth understanding of Newton Prep's ethos, and proven leadership, Mrs Clothier will ensure that the Lower School continues to flourish.
